Pumpkin spice and all things nice for Autumn.

For me Autumn is such a comforting time of the year. When the nights draw in, staying at home with warming spiced drinks, big slices of cake and obviously a calming hand sewing project is my idea of heaven!

For a long time, I have always wanted to have decorations to display around the house for all different occasions throughout the year, but for one reason or another I have never made time for it. With everything going on, and most of us spending more time at home, it seems like the perfect opportunity to create a beautifully decorated space. For this reason, I decided to design and create these glorious felt pumpkins that you can use as bunting around the house. It goes without saying really that pumpkins epitomise the Autumn season, especially with holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving. You don’t need a huge amount of materials to make this and it can easily be done in an afternoon.

Before I start working on any project, I really like to set up myself up well for the time I have by creating a calming sewing space. Something I like to occasionally do as well is to make sure there is fresh homemade cake around to have with a cup of tea or coffee whilst making. My absolute favourite cake at the moment, and perfect for Autumn, is this supper scrumptious toffee apple gingerbread loaf.

By taking time for yourself to do a project like this you can really embrace the Autumn season whilst creating beautiful items for your home at the same time.
